Last day in Spain

Costa del Sol is also called Costa del Golf and for the last round of the trip we went up Golf Valley again. A little further down from La Cala you find Santana, which was the battle field of the day.

To the great dismay of my golf buddy, Morten, the yellow tees were not as far behind as they normally are. Luckily he didn’t insist we play of the white tees (which makes the course longer and more difficult). The set-up suited me just fine. Fine to the point where I after six holes was just one over par. I then I hit a triple bogey which made the score card look a lot un-cooler.

Sparing you further details from the round I can reveal the final score of… Ta-tam: 85! 13 over par. This could potentially drag my handicap below 20.

Some would of course argue that the course was too easy with some off the tees as far down as the ladies’ tee-boxes. I, on the other hand, say it was golf at it’s finest.

Now I’m back i the real world and the in-door driving range at Fornebu. While that is in no way golf at it’s finest, it’s not too shabby living five minutes away.

If Liberace played golf, I am sure his favorite place in Spain would be Flamingos. Not because of the courses, but the hotel would definitely be right up his alley.

La Cala Resort – Campo Asia and Campo America

Yesterday was a fantastic day! But to be perfectly honest it didn’t start off too well. I was putting on my favorite pair of pants and it turned out they have become a tad tight. Seriously: I couldn’t do the button. It’s obvious golf doesn’t do you any favors as far as fitness goes and it was quite alarming to see what it has done to me.

Cabopino Golf Club

So it all started off pretty good with a nice bugi to take me around the fascility and a par on the first hole of 2010. I thought I had it all figured out at the second when I hit a bogey… not so much. Read more…

Viva España

So the blog begins! I’m on my way to Marbella for a few days of fun. I love Southern Spain and I’ve done this trip a few times before; only this time the agenda is slightly different. The BASE rig has lost it’s place to a set of golf clubs … Some might find this about as lame as the subtitle of the blog, but I’m quite excited. (And as far as the subtitle goes it is actually quite funny if you get the connection).
